    Pay rate: starting at $17/hr

    Berkshire Food Co-op Team Members are the public face of the Co-op, providing friendly customer service while ensuring speedy production. Café Team Members work to create and maintain a vibrant, customer-focused environment by providing excellent service, appropriately communicating the Co-op’s mission and values, preparing quality sandwiches/wraps and beverages, and maintaining the order and cleanliness of the department. They report to the Fresh Foods Manager and aid in creating a positive environment that encourages ownership and accountability providing a quality guest experience. This role will monitor and ensure exceptional service and food quality and presentation. They work to achieve the collective goals of the organization and support the Ends, Vision, Culture and Values of the Co-op.

    ● Follows established BFC cafe recipes and production techniques to ensure high productivity 

    ● Complies with Co-op standards of operation and production procedures, as well as those of all applicable regulatory agencies, and ensures on a daily basis that all products are prepared and presented in accordance with Co-op standards 

    ● Follows all store and department systems, SOPs and guidelines 

    ● Prepares quality sandwiches/wraps and beverages, and maintains the order and cleanliness of the department 

    ● Maintains inventories by replenishing smoothie/juice bar ingredients, coffee beans and supplies

    ● Assists in the daily opening and closing procedures (dependent on scheduled hours), inventory preparation, display and control; aid in training entry level team members as assigned by Fresh Foods leadership 

    ● Maintain and perform the daily operations of the Cafe Department; perform food preparation or service tasks such as washing product, cooking, serving food and drinks, and other tasks as assigned by the Fresh Foods Manager or Cafe Assistant Manager

    Pay rate: $17.50 - $20 per hour

    Berkshire Food Co-op (“BFC”) Fresh Food Hot Bar Cooks support the fast-paced, creative kitchen by cooking established BFC recipes for the ever popular hot bar, soup station, salad bar, and Grab & Go stations. They work with a team of passionate cooks to provide delicious, every-day meals while abiding by the BFC Food Policy and established BFC, local, state and federal health regulations. They follow recipes, keep a sanitized work area, and organize back stock while checking inventory when needed. They are committed to excellence in retail and service standards, ensuring smooth, safe and efficient operations, and curating an exceptional customer experience. They work to achieve the collective goals of the organization and support the Ends, Vision, Culture and Values of the Co-op.

    Job Responsibilities:

    ● Cook and help prep fresh food menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff in a fast-paced environment

    ● Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh

    ● Prepare and cook food items, following established BFC recipes and production techniques to ensure high productivity; refers to recipe book, Fresh Foods Packet, and/or a Fresh Foods Leadership team member, for refresher training

    ● Memorize and utilize BFC serving portion sizes and all basic meal prep procedures used in the kitchen

    ● Complies with Co-op standards of operation and production procedures, as well as those of all applicable regulatory agencies, and ensures on a daily basis that all products are prepared and presented in accordance with Co-op standards

    ● Follows all store and department systems, SOPs and guidelines

    ● Stocks displays fully without overcrowding; faces items on shelves maintaining integrity of all sets

    ● Safely rotates prepared foods with new batches when stock gets low throughout the day

    ● Monitor product freshness and rotate out old production based on a schedule created by the department
